Frequently Asked Questions
How do I create an account?
You sign up with a Passkey (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or your device PIN). Passkey credentials are bound to voidsend.xyz and cannot be phished. No email or phone number is required.
Can VoidSend read my messages?
No. All encryption and decryption happens locally on your device. The server only stores encrypted data. We operate as a blind relay and never hold your decryption keys.
What encryption does VoidSend use?
VoidSend uses post-quantum hybrid encryption: ML-KEM-768 (Kyber) alongside X25519 for key exchange, and ML-DSA-65 alongside secp256k1 for digital signatures. Both are NIST-standardized post-quantum algorithms.
How do I send files?
Open a chat, tap the paperclip icon, and select a file. Files are encrypted end-to-end before upload. You can send images, videos, documents, and other file types.
What are disappearing messages?
You can set messages to auto-delete after a set time (30 seconds to 7 days). Once the timer expires, the message is permanently removed from both devices and the server.
How do I make voice or video calls?
Open a chat and tap the phone or video icon in the header. Calls are encrypted with WebRTC DTLS-SRTP and relayed through our servers, so your IP address is not exposed to the other participant.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page within the app. Account deletion works as follows:
- Your account is deactivated immediately and you are removed from all groups.
- You have a 30-day grace period to change your mind and reactivate.
- After 30 days, your account and all associated data (messages, files, contacts, encryption keys) are permanently and irreversibly deleted from our servers.
To delete your account: open VoidSend, go to Settings, scroll to "Delete Account", and follow the confirmation steps.
